Course duration (20 guided hours):

10 sessions held weekly of 2 hours in length each. Starts in the Autumn or Winter Term1.

Course Aim:

This course is designed to give a simple, clear and easy way to learn about technology and how an individual can make informed personal choices about the type of devices, software, tasks and applications that could enhance their everyday lives. The course is useful for complete beginners as well as individuals that have some experience but wish to either refresh their skills or feel the need to understand some of the fundamental principles and background knowledge about modern technology and its uses today.

Target Audience:

Complete beginners to computing and technology, or those who have learned to use technology themselves or have never formally being taught computer skills. Anyone who need to refresh skills and understand modern terminology. Professionals or those seeking work in technology or teaching who are seeking to teach basic computer skills to beginners or help supporting work colleagues in developing their technology skills.

This course is designed to give help individuals to learn and practice using technology to used to communicate using email, and instant messaging, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol Applications like Skype) and social media sharing using different devices and software.

Target Audience:

Students that have completed GTT Academy Module M1 or have a basic understanding of basic knowledge and functional skills in every day technology use and wishes exploit the communication benefits technology can bring. Professionals or those seeking work in technology or teaching who are seeking to teach basic computer communication skills or helping colleagues, family or friends to exploit their technology to communicate or connect better digitally.
